Did You Try It?

Did you try it?

What happened?

I wish I could meet all of you in the parking lot at work today and you could tell me your story about telling a story to someone you care about, but, most of all, I’m just excited that maybe you are feeling inspired to create more connection during our 7 Day Valentine’s Day Warm Up.

Day 2: Do Something Thoughtful

Again, think of all the people in your life who mean so much to you.  Now pick one of them to focus on today.

Serving others has been called the secret to happiness.  It makes others feel good to know someone is thinking about them and cares enough to do something nice,
AND it releases endorphins, those feel good hormones, in us when we serve, making us feel good as well.  The perfect “two-for-one” bonus!

Think of something unexpected that is kind or thoughtful that you could do for the person you have in mind.  It doesn’t have to be grand or take a lot of time or money.

Do it.  Yep, it’s better if you actually go and do it rather than just think about it!

I probably shouldn’t brag, but my husband, Cal, is pretty awesome in this department, especially the creative part.  After overindulging through the holidays, I announced, along with most of America, that I really wanted to cut down on sweets for a while.  Just a day or two later, Cal came home from the grocery store and called out, “Hey, Anne, come here. I brought you home a treat!” I have to admit, I kind of groaned inside and wondered how I was going to handle this diplomatically. Refuse his treat?  Get mad at him for undermining my attempts to eat healthier? So, you can appreciate my delight when I got to the kitchen, opened the little white bag he held out and found a giant deli style dill pickle inside! One of my all-time favorite foods and definitely on the low fat, low sugar list!

So, there you have it. Day 2 of the 7 Day Valentine’s Warm Up.

Who comes to your mind to give service to today?

Warmly,

Anne
